Our firm began life as a software development company providing niche products to a Condominium Homeowner's Association and a local United Way. Since that time we have developed a wide range of applications in support of small organizations as well as several large financial services organizations. Our expertise lies in understanding the business processes and our ability to translate business requirements into applications.

Our development experience includes a variety of databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Foxpro, Access, and Sybase. We have developed applications targeting these databases in Visual Basic, Visual Basic.Net, Visual Foxpro, Access, Powerbuilder, and C. An example of the areas we have provided these services are:

Municipal Government & Law Enforcement

While no longer actively marketed, we have built an application called GWCad for the New Jersey law enforcement community. This is a communications gateway between Computer Aided Dispatch/Records systems and Mobile Data Terminals in patrol cars.

Insurance

GeoConcepts has provided significant software development expertise to the insurance industry. Our major efforts include:

  • Development of a prototype "risk visualization" tool designed to enable the analysis of exposure re-insurance firms may incur in the event of a catastrophic event. This tool utilized geographic tools integrated with databases to visually guage the value of losses in a given area based on user-defined parameters.
  • In association with a Big 5 consulting firm, development of an application for a large financial services firm that assisted them in the use of the Hyperion Consolidation tool for revamping their General Ledger system, enabling them to convert from a Mutual firm to a public company.
  • Ongoing support and development of specialized financial reporting for a large niche insurance firm.

Not For Profit

We have developed a custom application for a regional United Way to provide the tracking and reporting of pledges made by employees of participating companies. This application provides them with the ability to easily notify the agencies they support and other United Ways of the contributions they can expect to receive. This has saved their personnel countless hours of work previously required.

Real Estate / Construction Services

We continue to provide application development services in a variety of firms in the Real Estate development, management, and construction industry. These custom applications range from Excel Templates for reporting of Union Dues to Microsoft Sharepoint customizations. We are currently involved in developing an integration application to pass information between a 3rd party Payables Processing system and a hosted Account system using XML, automated FTP transfers, and Web Services.
